Microsoft Excel has many wonderful
features that make it an excellent
development platform for software.
However in addition to Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Excel VBA
(What is VBA?),
EMAGENIT also uses Visual Basic .NET,
Microsoft Word, Microsoft
PowerPoint, Lotus Notes
and a variety of other
programs to
achieve the software look and
performance that your company
desires. We use these "off the shelf"
software packages to decrease tool design
time, increase tool functionality
and provide an environment that
users already know. VBA or VB .Net
is used as the glue that binds all of them together.
We also use Database Management
Systems like SQL Server,
Access and ORACLE in our
software designs when necessary. An
example of a hybrid system recently
developed by EMAGENIT is Report
Generation X pictured above. It uses Visual
Basic
.Net's strengths for information
presentation and database access
along with Excel's strength's
for report generation and graphics
to create a hybrid tool that
automatically generates pricing
tools and report generation tools
in Excel. It then links these tools to Microsoft Word
documents automatically.
